To be recognised on a national stage alongside some of the best manufacturers in the country is something our entire Ballarat team is incredibly proud of — and we want to take a moment to share what this recognition means to us, and why we believe it reflects something truly special happening right here in regional Victoria.
Built on Genuine Innovation
The Innovation Award nomination reflects the core of our story. Executive Director John King identified that Australia was falling well behind global standards in windows and doors quality — lacking the high-performance uPVC solutions that had become the norm across Europe and North America. This gap was not just a product gap; it was an energy performance gap, leaving Australian builders without a locally manufactured solution capable of meeting rising NCC energy rating requirements.
Rather than importing a solution, John travelled to Europe many times — to study the technology firsthand, engage with leading manufacturers, and ultimately bring the Graf Synergy welding line back to Australia, alongside using aluplast® uPVC profiles. The result is a product manufactured entirely in regional Victoria that delivers up to seven times better thermal performance than traditional aluminium alternatives and supports 7 and 8-Star NCC energy ratings.
This innovation has continued through ongoing product development, energy performance validation, and strategic industry partnerships.
