Earlier this month, Perfect Windows and Doors was awarded the Gold Award for Innovation at the 2026 Australian Manufacturing Awards — one of the most significant nights in the company’s history.
The Recognition Reflects the Core of Our Story
Executive Director John King identified that Australia was falling well behind global standards in windows and doors quality. The gap wasn’t just a product gap — it was an energy performance gap, leaving Australian builders without a locally manufactured solution capable of meeting rising NCC energy rating requirements.
Rather than importing a solution, John travelled to Europe repeatedly — studying the technology firsthand, engaging with leading manufacturers, and ultimately bringing the Graf Synergy welding line to Australia alongside aluplast® uPVC profiles.
The result is a product manufactured entirely in regional Victoria, at volume scale, that delivers up to 7x better thermal performance than traditional aluminium and supports 7 and 8-star NCC energy ratings.
The Gold Award for Innovation is recognition that this decision — to build something new, from scratch, in Ballarat — was worth making.
What This Award Means
This award is not just ours — it belongs to every person in our Wendouree facility.
It reflects a more than 20-year commitment to doing things differently — choosing European technology over the status quo, investing in a purpose-built facility when it would have been easier not to, and staying focused on quality when growth created pressure to cut corners.
And it reflects where we are headed. As Australia’s energy performance standards continue to rise and more builders discover the difference uPVC makes, we believe the best chapters of this story are still to come.
